She is survived by her children, one grandson Derek; her sisters: Florene French, Helen Livingston and Mabel Siegismund; a sister-in-law Wilma Stephan; a daughter-in-law Karol Stephan; many nieces, nephews and a best friend Phyllis Snodgrass.for Irma will be held beginning at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton City, Missouri.
Irma did not wish to have visitation. Anyone unable to attend the funeral may call at Hill & Son Funeral Home. The minister will be Pastor David Herald. Interment will be in Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton City, Missouri.
Irma's wishes were that any memorial donations be given to Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid or to the Appleton City Cemetery.
Irma Marie Hearting was born in Rockville, Missouri to Fred and Emma Hearting on July 3, 1929. She departed this life at her home of 38 years in Appleton City, Missouri on January 30, 2017 at the age of 87.
Irma was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton City with her special Godparents being Minnie and John Epple. As a young girl, she did home cleaning and cared for people. Irma attended Blue Mound Elementary School, Lutheran Parochial school and graduated from Appleton City High School in 1948. She attended Warrensburg Teacher’s College and taught at one room country schools.
Irma met Leo in November 1948 and they married on November 17, 1950. Her most treasured life occupation was being a dedicated mother to Robert, Nancy, William and Dianna. She cherished her grandsons Justin and Derek. Throughout her life Irma was a substitute teacher, librarian, school cook and she cared for the elderly at Appleton City Manor Nursing Home and Countryside Estates Retirement Home. Her hobbies were tong to sales and flea markets. She loved to collect dolls and dress them.
