Schell City man arrested in St. Clair County

On April 18, Leroy Covey, 28, Schell City, was arrested on a St Clair County warrant charging him with of class D felony possession of a controlled substance. The warrant was issued the same day and bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.

The charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation the same day when a deputy initiated a traffic stop in the parking lot of Casey’s General Store, Appleton City. 

During the investigation a small bag with a white crystalline substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine was located. 

A glass pipe for smoking methamphetamine and a pipe used for smoking marijuana were also located.
