Melvia L. "Pete" Robey, 91, of Adrian, MO passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 - 2 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Her family requests no flowers and suggests contributions be made to the Adrian Bit and Spur Club.
Pete was born in Mankato, KS and had lived in the K.C. area before moving to Adrian 30 years ago. She worked as a switchboard operator for the Kansas City Athletics/Royals and the K.C. Chiefs for over 20 years before retiring. Preceding Pete in death were her husband, Robert Robey; her parents; two brothers and one sister.
