Pursuit ends with one in custody, deputy receives injuries during foot pursuit in Vernon County

A Vernon County Deputy received injuries following a foot pursuit early Sunday morning. According to Officials with the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, A deputy attempted to make a traffic stop after seeing a truck run a stop sign at 1900 and Oldtown Road. 

The vehicle failed to yield and the deputy began pursuing the vehicle northeast of Nevada. Multiple county units responded to assist in the pursuit and the vehicle went off the road at 2350 and Dalton Road, in Vernon County. 

The driver then fled on foot into a field where he was apprehended by deputies a short time later. Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher said a deputy received injuries to his leg during the foot pursuit and has received medical treatment. 

Sheriff Mosher also said suspected methamphetamines were recovered. “We found suspected methamphetamines in the truck and they will be sent to the lab for analysis.”

The driver has been identified as 26 year-old Stephan E Householder, with an address listed in Joplin, Mo. Warrants were issued Sunday evening charging Householder with Resisting Arrest, Driving While Revoked, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Householder is being held in the Vernon County Jail on a $10,000 cash only bond.
