Two Search Warrants Served in Henry County Lead to Seizures of Suspected Methamphetamine and Heroin

According to Sheriff Kent Oberkrom, two persons were arrested in connection with drug-related investigations, as well as two search warrants were executed in Henry County over the past 24 hours. Charges included drug trafficking crimes and weapons offenses. On Thursday afternoon, April 20, 2017, around 4:00 p.m., a search warrant was served in the 100 block of East Jefferson Street in Windsor. 

The search warrant authorized deputies to search the residence for methamphetamine, as well as items associated with its distribution and consumption. 

During the search warrant’s execution, quantities of suspected methamphetamine and heroin, along with numerous items of paraphernalia were discovered and seized.Those participating in the execution of this search warrant were Detective Dugan and Deputies Townsend, Lambirth and Curl. Arrested was Janice Cook, age 34, of Windsor, on 24-hour investigation of trafficking controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.Cook was transported to the Henry County Detention Center. Then shortly after 8:00 p.m., on Thursday evening, a vehicle stop was conducted in the 100 block of South Hwy 7 by Deputy Oaks, during which a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia and a handgun was located within the vehicle which was stopped.

The driver was taken into custody on drug and weapons-related charges and transported to the Henry County Detention Center. At the detention center, between five to ten grams of suspected methamphetamine, along with a small amount of marijuana, was located concealed upon the driver’s body.

Arrested was James Shaw, age 59, of Clinton, on 24-hour investigation of trafficking controlled substances, unlawful possession of contraband within a detention center and unlawful possession of a firearm. At around 10:45 p.m., that evening, a second search warrant was served in the 700 block of Verna Street in Clinton, in connection with the traffic stop and subsequent investigation.

During the search warrant’s execution, quantities of methamphetamine and numerous items of paraphernalia were discovered and seized.Those participating in the execution of this search warrant were Major Hills, Detective Dugan and Deputies Oaks, Curl and Green, along with Sgt. Nepple, and Patrolmen Bettencourt, Young and Michael of the Clinton Police Department.

During the execution of the search warrant on Verna, Angelina Brewer, age 30, Clinton was found in the residence & arrested by Clinton PD Officers on a Clinton municipal warrant.

“Our office has been extremely busy over the past couple of months, investigating reported drug activity occurring within Henry County. More arrests are expected, as the investigation into drug and other criminal activity continues”, Sheriff Oberkrom stated.
