Minor injuries to Adrian women in accident

Two Adrian women received minor injuries in an accident on 71 Highway about four miles South of Rich Hill this morning. According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2007 Chevrolet Impala driven by Ola Arney of Adrian was traveling Northbound in the left lane at a slow rate of speed when it was approached from behind by a 2001 Peterbuilt tractor-trailer driven by Mark Flatten of Holman, WI. in the right lane. The Arney car apparently moved into the right lane as the truck was attempting to pass and was struck in the  rear. The car then ran off the right side of the roadway and came to a rest in the ditch. A passenger in the Arney car, Betty Enos of Adrian also received minor injuries and both women were taken to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment. The driver of the truck was not injured.
