Funeral services for Joe Gilliam will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Pastor Ron Dunlap officiating. Visitation, 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial, Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler. Contributions to N.R.A. or Missouri Department of Conservation.

Dwena Joseph Gilliam, age 88 of Butler, Missouri died Sunday, November 28, 2010 at his home in Butler. He was born July 22, 1922 to Dwen Banjamin and Susie Frances Browning Gilliam in Greenleaf, Kansas.


Joe is survived by his wife, Thelma Gilliam of Butler, Missouri; a son, Joe Gilliam Jr. and companion Mary of Butler, Missouri; a daughter, Elaine Barnhart and husband David of Carthage, Missouri; three grandsons, Michael, Karl and Greg; and three great-grandchildren, Finley, Aidan and Liam. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Rebecca; and two nephews.
