Funeral services for Allen "Ajax" Johnson will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Bethany Mennonite Church in Rich Hill, Missouri under the direction of the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:30-8 p.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial in Warrensburg Memorial Gardens in Warrensburg, Missouri. Contributions to Moundridge Manor.
Allen Jay Johnson, age 95 of Moundridge, Kansas formerly of Rich Hill, Missouri died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Moundridge Manor in Moundridge. He was born February 21, 1916 to Elias and Josephine Holdeman Johnson in Newton, Kansas.
Allen is survived by one son, Donald Johnson of Peyton, Colorado; two stepdaughters, Patricia Sherman and husband Bill of Highland Village, Texas and Donna Vermillion and husband Bob of Summerfield, Florida; two brothers, Willard Johnson and wife Francis of Macon, Mississippi and Charles Johnson of Rich Hill, Missouri; two sisters, Lois Eastland of Phoenix, Arizona and Jewell McGinnis of Yuma, Arizona; a brother-in-law, Ralph Bear and wife Shirley of Shawnee Mission, Kansas; three stepgrandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Worthie; his second wife, Blanche Lewis; and one brother, Dennis Johnson.
