Kyle Shobe, the 2010 world livestock auctioneer champion, will put his prize-winning talent to work at MO-KAN Livestock Market, Inc., in Passaic, Mo. on April 14th.
At MO-KAN Shobe will be working an 11 a.m. sale as approximately 1200-1500 head of feeder cattle go through the sale ring, said market owner Jim Hertzog.
There is no charge to attend the sale. The market is located on U.S. Highway 71, five miles north of Butler, Mo., and 50 miles south of Kansas City.
This is the third consecutive world champion to appear at MO-KAN. Shobe, of Lewistown, Mont., follows 2008 champion Matt Lowery, and 2009’s Ty Thompson.
“It’s always exciting to have the world champion here,” Hertzog said. “People love to hear him sell – and it’s a great way to demonstrate true price discovery, which only the auction method offers.”
Hertzog could become the 2011 world champion, since he’s qualified for the June 25 World Livestock Auctioneer Championship (WLAC), in Williamston, S.C.
This is third consecutive year he’s qualified for the WLAC. His best finish so far was among the ten finalists in 2009. That was also the year Shobe – in his first WLAC – was named runner-up champion, or third place.
