Genevieve Harris, 94 of Amsterdam, passed away March 21, 2011 at Louisburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Louisburg, KS.
Genevieve was born September 17, 1916 in rural Westline, Mo., the daughter of Charles Arthur and Bertha Mae (Enloe) Smith. She was united in marriage to William Harris, who passed away in 1961. Genevieve was a homemaker and farm lady her entire life. Her family describes that she thrived on the farm, and always enjoyed keeping the farm place pristine – mowing everything in sight. She also enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William, and two sisters, Shirley Fink and Zadie Case. She is survived by her two children, Wilma Smith and husband Ray of Drexel, Mo., and Gary Harris and wife Lana of Amsterdam. She also leaves behind two grandsons, two great-granddaughters, and two great-grandsons.
Graveside Funeral Service:
A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Friday, March 25 in West Point Cemetery, Amsterdam, with Greg Mullinax presiding. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions in Genevieve’s name are suggested to West Point Cemetery, and may be left in care of the funeral home: PO Box 500, Drexel, MO 64742.
