Obituary - Juanita Musick

Juanita “Neitzi” Musick, 72 of Paola, Ks., and formerly of Drexel, Mo., passed away November 4, 2010 at The Court of Overland Park.

Juanita was born October 21, 1938 in Amarillo, Texas, the daughter of Richard and Gladys (Arnold) Sides.  She married Mr. Keithel Dale Musick on June 15, 1957 in Drexel.  She worked for the Internal Revenue Service as a tax examiner for approximately 30 years until her retirement.  She loved vacationing at the family cabin near Bemidji, Minnesota.  She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers especially, as well as watching birds and playing cards.  Juanita particularly loved spending time with her grandchildren.  Her family describes her as a good Christian woman who never met a stranger.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Keithel on October 15, 2001; and one brother, Edward Sides.  She is survived by her children: Vicki Davey and husband Robert of Drexel; Cheryl “Sherri” Musick of Olathe; and Mike Musick of Paola; one brother, James Sides of Nebraska; grandchildren Catherine Crossland of Atchison, Ks., Christina and Elizabeth Davey of Drexel, Tristan Musick of Olathe, and Jennifer Dolan of Paola.  She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4-6pm Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Mullinax Funeral Home, Drexel, Mo., chapel (816) 657-4400. Funeral services will be at 1pm Monday, November 8 at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Sharon Cemetery, Drexel. The family suggests memorial contributions to Continua Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association which may be left in care of the funeral home.
