Butler man's real life experiences are basis for children's book

What started as husband and wife chit-chat has turned into a delightful accomplishment for Butler businessman Shannon Gepford. Some eight years ago, Gepford's wife (then schoolteacher) Misti, frequently commented that the books her students were reading had some room for improvement. Over time, Gepford took her comments to heart and it eventually prompted him to get busy and write his own children's book...Solomon Isaiah Spreewell-Throw-Up, Pigs and Kisses which is based on his own, real life childhood experiences:

How many boys can say that they have gone with the wrong girl, fell face first in pig manure, saw the principal get thrown-up on, got a kiss from his teacher, watched a classmate devour a cockroach, and battled with his sister Andie and her antics daily?

Sis is sure that he is the only one with problems like these....will fifth grade be a year to remember or forget for Solomon Isaiah Spreewell?

You'll have to read the book to find out.

In the meantime, Shannon Gepford is a busy person- owner of MCI Financial Group and play by play announcer for Butler Bears football; he also is the current Fellowship of Christian Athletes' sponsor for Butler High School. And foremost, he spends plenty of quality time with wife Misti and daughters Alyx, Mady and Ryenne.

Can he make time to write a sequel? Yes. In fact, he's working on another Solomon Isaiah Spreewell book right now...
