Obituary - Andy Hansen

Andrew “Andy” Hansey Hansen, 56, Archie, MO died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the KCPL Montrose Power Plant in Montrose, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Atkinson Chapel in Archie, MO. Burial will be in Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian, MO. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Atkinson Chapel in Archie. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Memorial/Tribute Processing Center, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674.

Andy was born September 19, 1954 in Kansas City, MO, the son of William G. and Marie Margaret (Merritt) Hansen, Jr. He was a 1972 graduate of Archie High School. He attended and graduated from the St. Charles Police Academy. He joined the National Guard and served as a Military Policeman from 1972-1985. On September 12, 1984 he was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Middaugh.

Andy worked as a machinist for 30 years, starting out working for BTM in Belton from 1972–1982. He later opened his own business, American Steel and Fabrication, in Archie, MO. In 2006 he went to work for KCPL in Operations. He was a member of Amvets Post #1139 in Harrisonville, MO.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret Hansen and one brother, Edward Hansen. He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; one son, Jason Hansen of Holden, MO; four daughters, Michelle Savell Lamb and her husband, James, of Lamar, MO, Skiela Middaugh of Archie, MO, Melissa Middaugh and Ron Jacobs of Butler, MO and Cassandra Williams and husband, Michael, of Austin, TX; one brother, William Hansen and wife, Carol of Portland, OR; three sisters, Linda Guss of Adrian, MO, Gail Rohm of Harviell, MO and Leona Winchester of Van Buren, MO; 10 grandchildren, Kyrsten Jacobs, Skylar Fikki, Kelsey Jacobs, Madisen Middaugh, Katelyn Jacobs, Caleb Williams, Colton Williams, Aidan Hansen, Brayden Daniels and Cali Hansen.
