Around 12:30 p.m. today James Rowbottom, 50, of Warsaw Mo. was traveling Northbound on Route BB just South of Ballard when he failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and struck an embankment. Rowbottom received moderate injuries and was transported to Research Hospital in Kansas City for treatment.
Adrian Fire/Rescue and the Bates County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene. The 1999 Chevrolet Rowbottom was driving was totaled; the report shows he was wearing a seat belt.
