Butler Police Department report Dec. 8 through 13th

Dec. 8th - Officers were dispatched to Wal-Mart on a suspicious call. Upon arrival officers are informed that two male subjects attempted to purchase approximately $1,400.00 worth of DVD's but their credit card was denied. The suspects then went to the jewelry counter and attempted to purchase expensive watches. Upon arrival, officers ran a warrant check on the suspects. One of the men had a warrant in Kansas City and was placed under arrest. Upon arrival at the Bates County Sheriff's Office, a plastic bag containing marijuana was found during a search of the suspect.

Officers were called to a Careless and Imprudent driving report at Fort Scott and Fulton. The calling party signs a complaint and the driver of the vehicle is given a court date.

Officers are dispatched to the 300 block of West Harrison on a disturbance call. Upon arriving, officers find a male and female arguing. The home owner requests officers to remove the female suspect, who leaves without incident.

Dec. 10th - Officers respond to the 1100 block of North Orange on a vandalism call. Officers find several cars have been egged during the night.

Dec. 11th - Officers respond to Conoco on a report that two juveniles were attempting to buy alcohol. Officers locate the suspects and upon making contact, detect a strong odor of alcohol. The suspects are arrested for Open Container and Minor In Possession charges.

While on a stop at Prospect and Pine, officers determine that the driver is suspended. During the stop, drug paraphernalia is found. The driver is arrested.

Dec. 12th - Officers  respond to Sonic on a stolen vehicle report. Investigation reveals that the vehicle was being repossessed.

Officers are dispatched to the 300 block of West College on a possible disturbance call. Upon arrival, officers make contact with two suspects at the residence. After checking the situation, one of the suspects agrees to leave the area.

Officers work a two vehicle accident in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Dec. 13th - Officers respond to the Dollar Store on a report of counterfeit money. Upon making contact, it was determined that counterfeit bills had been passed.
