Defendants have their day in court

The following were sentenced Monday before the Honorable James K. Journey, Judge of the Circuit Court of Bates County:

Kevin Powell, 28, of Butler was sentenced for the possession of a controlled substance (class C felony) to 4 years DOC; he was also sentenced for domestic assault (class C felony) for 4 years DOC.

Christopher Forbes, 33, of Amoret was sentenced on a probation violation (original charge Domestic Assault - class C felony) to 5 years DOC.

Dustan Williams, 37, of Belton sentenced on delivery of a controlled substance charge and probation violation to run concurrent with a class C felony forgery sentence. 5 years DOC.

Melanie Frost, 32, of Amoret sentenced to 4 years DOC for possession of a controlled substance (class C felony).
