Jeanne Marie Mielcarek, 85 of Drexel, passed away December 19, 2010 at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park.
Jeanne was born January 11, 1925 in Erie, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Gene and Marie Rastatter. She was united in marriage to Dr. John Eugene Mielcarek, who preceded her in death. Jeanne was a homemaker and particularly enjoyed singing in church choirs, and reading mysteries. Those who knew her know that she loved her cats, bowling, and in particular, her Glenn Miller music.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her first grandchild, Kristi Mielcarek. She is survived by her children: William Mielcarek of Las Vegas; Rose Heidrick of Drexel, Mo.; Mark Mielcarek of Las Vegas; Paul Mielcarek of Las Vegas; and Denise Gallo of Lee’s Summit, Mo. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Ryan, Ginny, Katie, Anna, Tricia, Nicole, Joseph, Jarod, Brandon and Kelly.
Private services will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Jeanne are suggested to St. Margaret’s of Scotland Church in Lee’s Summit, Mo.
