Obituary - Bill Smith

Funeral services for Bill Smith will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2011 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Pastor Richard Hubbard officiating. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3-5 p.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2011 at Buckner Hills Cemetery, Buckner, Missouri. Contributions to American Cancer Society.

Billy Joe Smith, age 77 of rural Adrian, Missouri formerly of Napolean, Missouri passed away peacefully Thursday, June 23, 2011 at his home in Adrian and went to be with the Lord. He was born June 13, 1934 to Layton Doss and Corda Eurie Johnson in Taney County, Missouri.


Bill is survived by his son, Steven Smith and wife Patti of Kearney, Missouri; two daughters, Rhonda Morrison and husband Curtis of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Kimberly Sidden and husband Dave of Holt, Missouri; grandsons, Jacob and Stetson Smith, Kyle, Christopher and Evan Morrison; granddaughters, Sage Smith and Baylee and Billee Jo Sidden; two sisters, Geraldine Thornhill of Ballard, Missouri and Betty Creath of Overland Park, Kansas; and many nephews, nieces and honorary family members who called him “Uncle Bill”--especially the John Meade and Don Camerer families. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Imogene Smith; and one brother, Robert Smith.
