Funeral services for Everett Eugene "Bill" Craft of Butler, Missouri will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler with Pastor Ron Dunlap officiating. Visitation prior to services from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial, Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trail of Memories or Debbie Bledsoe Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Bill was the oldest of five children and graduated from Butler High School in 1947. He married Myrna LaDon Rains on June 16, 1951 and to this union three children were born—twin girls Debra Ann and Dana Sue and a son Dale Eugene.
Bill joined the Navy where he was stationed in California serving his country four years. He was discharged as 1st Class-BT on ship RD Anderson-786. After his tour of duty in the Navy, he worked as a mechanic for Erf’s Garage in Glendale, California. He moved his family back to Butler in 1965 and purchased Harry’s Dari-King from in-laws Earnest and Fern Rains. He also farmed. In 1989, he sold Harry’s but continued farming with son Dale.
Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years Myrna Craft, twin daughter Dana and husband Eddy Bridges, son Dale Craft and wife Pamela, son-in-law Terry Bledsoe and wife Tammy all of Butler, Missouri. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Keri Bledsoe and partner Tabitha Vaughn of Duenweg, Missouri, Leslie Bridges and wife Kristi, Valerie (Craft) Gaylord and husband Eric, and Rains Craft all of Butler, Missouri; one great-granddaughter Kya Bridges; a brother Jim Craft and wife Freddie of Amoret, Missouri and sister Marylin Smith and husband Archie of Leawood, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews and LOTS of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Nadine Larson and Maxine Beebe; and twin daughter Debbie Bledsoe.
